Course Description

From Compliance to Compassion is a five module workshop for child welfare professionals, where up to 80% of foster youth report traumatic experiences. Using brain science, real case studies, and SAMHSA's six trauma-informed principles, participants learn to read behavior as communication and build safety, voice, and choice into casework and compliance monitoring. The payoff: better engagement, stronger placement stability, and staff who last.

About the Author

Becky Haas is an internationally recognized trauma-informed care expert, trainer, author, and community resilience advocate known for helping organizations and communities understand the impact of trauma, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs).

She is a pioneer in building trauma-informed communities, with her work in Northeast Tennessee recognized by SAMHSA as a national model for community transformation. Becky has trained professionals across healthcare, education, public health, law enforcement, and the justice system, and has developed multiple evidence-based training programs and toolkits used nationwide.

Through her engaging storytelling and practical approach, she equips leaders and organizations with strategies to create resilient, trauma-informed systems that improve outcomes for individuals, families, and communities.
